God's Creation at the Aquarium

Another highlight of our March Florida trip was our visit to the Marine Aquarium.  Following the boys' preschool curriculum, we have studied many animals this school year.  P was for penguins, and we so enjoyed learning about these unusual birds.  So it was exceptionallly exciting to actually meet 6 rock-hopping penguins (native to South Africa)...

Isaiah, getting a shoulder-high view...

Isaiah, peering into the shark tank with his grandpa...

For some reason, these ferocious fish are among Judah's favorites.  This one, I think, was a sandbar shark...

This was Selah's favorite part of the aquarium... the touch tank!  Sea urchins, star fish, brittle stars, sand dollars, horseshoe crabs... all inviting the finger to touch...

I'm not sure whether those sting rays ever came within reach of Isaiah's arms, but Grandma offered to help...

Cute looking penguins, wouldn't ya say?

Jellyfish- another wonder of God's detailed creation...

O was for octopus, so it was very, very special to meet one- right up close!  Judah was so excited he even gave him(her?) a kiss through the glass...

See him go?

What a catch!

Meet 'Hugh', a Florida sea manatee... (eats 96 heads of romaine lettuce in a week!)

And here's 'Moonshine'- a rare species of bottlenose dolphins, putting on a little show during training time...

Walk the dock sorrounded by Florida mangrove trees...

Any fish?

He, he... what a character...
