A Spring Snowstorm at the Zoo

We had a zoo membership about to expire.  Why not plan one more trip to the zoo on Duane's day off?  So the date was set for our March family field trip.  A few morning flurries didn't deter our plans...

...until we realized the scattered morning flurries was more like a 6 inches plus snow storm!!!  Needless to say, we were the ONLY guests at the zoo - unless you count the wolves who frolicked in the snow...

Of course, many animals were unobservable in their dens, but the ones who were out were enjoying the weather...

Inside the barn where we could thaw out a bit...

This kitty kept our attention for quite some time...

All geared up for the snow, except, ahem, our shoes - they were soaked through before we were half done...

Watching the antics of a member of the monkey family...

Another thaw inside the reptile house, observing the dragon...

Zoo in the snow?  Try it some time!  They even gave us free admittance as they laughed at us for arriving!
