Friend Reunion (August MI Trip V)

Now that a couple of my friends (and their growing families) have moved back to MI, it has become a MI tradition to spend some time all together.  And what better place than Sandy Pines?

Here Hannah & Owen (about 5 months apart) entertain each other at the water's edge...

More elaborate sand construction work...

And having Sophie along convinced Selah to finally try the high ropes course this summer...

It takes lots of guts for one so young to attempt the daring feat of walking along a rope suspended high in the clouds...

She wasn't real adventursome, but we were proud of her ability to overcome her fears...

Hannah overseeing the daddies play shuffleboard- or did she steal one of their pieces?

Kara with Calvin and baby Emilee.  It was a treat to witness Calvin doing so well.  We're proud of you, little buddy!

Baby Emilee belongs to the daddy on the left below- my cousin Dave visiting from BC whose family we got to enjoy all week...

Darryl & Bud (and Owen) on the other side of the board...

Three daddies lined up with their little ones on the slide.  Hannah (in Duane's arms) never tired from the slide.  She wanted to go again and again and again and again... well, long after we had tired from going down!

This year Judah can swim- well, barely swim.  He can do a fierce 'doggy paddle' and not panic while almost submerged under water.  So even though he didn't reach the height requirement, the life guards let him go down the big orange slide by himself (which saved us lots of trips since Isaiah & Hannah still need to be accompanied).

Here he is, all smiles before the plunge.  He just LOVES it!

But this is what he looks like swimming his way to the stairs.  Absolutely no fear.  And he needed several 'rescues' from drowning.  But determined he was.

Hannah and Mommy after another ride.  The minute this child was set down out of the pool she'd take off waddling her way to find the stairs to climb up to the slide - AGAIN!

Calvin, snuggled in a chair, making his happy sounds...

Owen, upside-down?

The good ole photo shot- what a cooky group!

Can't wait till next time!
